In short: ratioDB needs no account and loads no ads. Google Analytics only runs if you agree in the banner, otherwise ratioDB sets no cookies. Without consent, the only third-party script ratioDB loads is the Ahrefs Web Analytics visitor count, without cookies or identifiers. Your watchlist, comparison and view settings stay in your browser. Below you find exactly which data is still processed.
1. Controller
DTILE GmbH, Stormsweg 5A, 22085 Hamburg, Germany
Managing director: Engin Buldak
Email: support@ratiodb.com
2. Visiting the website and hosting on Cloudflare
ratioDB is delivered through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the requested address, browser and operating system (user agent) and the previously visited page (referrer). This is needed to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We do not analyze this data ourselves and keep no log files about visitors. We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare (Art. 28 GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.
ratioDB counts page views and clicks on links to Amazon anonymously: the page viewed, the domain of the previous page, country and device type. No IP addresses are stored for this, no cookies are set and no information is read from your device. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a website that meets visitors' needs (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Google Analytics (only with consent)
If you click "Accept" in the banner, ratioDB uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics measures which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, how long they stay and which device they use. Google sets cookies for this (_ga and _ga_ with the measurement ID, lifetime up to 2 years). According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Google signals and advertising features are turned off.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). Without consent, ratioDB does not load Google Analytics. You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. We have a data processing agreement with Google. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so the European Commission's adequacy decision applies (Art. 45 GDPR). See the Google privacy policy for details.
Ahrefs Web Analytics (no cookies)
ratioDB uses Ahrefs Web Analytics, a web analytics service of Ahrefs Pte. Ltd., 16 Raffles Quay #33-03 Hong Leong Building, Singapore 048581. The service counts visits: the page viewed including URL parameters, the previous page (referrer), country and city, browser, operating system, device type and screen size. Ahrefs sets no cookies and no persistent identifiers for this and does not track visitors across days. According to Ahrefs, the IP address is processed only briefly to derive country and city and to count visitors per day: Ahrefs hashes IP address and user agent with a random value (salt) that is regenerated and deleted every 24 hours. The IP address itself is not stored.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach to improve the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example by email or with an ad and tracking blocker. Ahrefs is based in Singapore, so data is processed outside the EU. See the Ahrefs privacy policy for details.
3. Storage in your browser (local storage)
Some features save settings in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us:
- watchlist per store with products and the price when saved (rdb:watch)
- comparison per store with up to 4 products (rdb:cmp)
- selected design (theme)
- selected period of the trend column (rdb:per)
- collapsed bottom bar (rdb:dockmin)
- Reddit table hint already seen (rhSeen)
- saved comparisons per store (rdb:cmps)
- short guide already opened (rdb:help-seen)
- your choice in the consent banner (rdb:consent)
This storage is strictly necessary for the feature you use (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
4. Contact by email
If you write to support@ratiodb.com, for example through "Report an error", we process your email address and the content of your message to reply. "Report an error" only opens your own email app with a prepared text. Nothing is sent automatically.
Incoming emails are received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to the mailboxes of DTILE GmbH, one of them at Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where a contract is concerned, otherwise our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We delete your message once your request is resolved, unless statutory retention periods apply.
5. Contact by WhatsApp
You can also reach us on WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. WhatsApp processes your phone number, metadata and messages under its own terms, and transfers to the USA are possible. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in offering a simple way to get in touch (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Please use email for confidential matters. See the WhatsApp privacy policy for details.
6. Links to Amazon
Your browser only connects to Amazon when you click a link to Amazon. From then on, Amazon's privacy notice applies.
ratioDB takes part in the amazon.de and amazon.com Associates programs. If you click an affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies to attribute a purchase to the link. ratioDB receives no personal data about you.
7. Fonts and content
All fonts, images and our own scripts are served from our own server. ratioDB loads nothing from Google Fonts, ad networks or other third parties, except the Ahrefs Web Analytics counting script and Google Analytics after your consent.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Just write to support@ratiodb.com.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
